PSI Michigan Class A Elevator Journeyperson Examination Certification Package

The exam consists of 100 questions and you get 120 minutes to complete the test. the minimum passing score is a 70%.

The examination for the Elevator Journeyperson license shall include, but not be limited to, questions designed to test an individual's knowledge of the elevator safety board act, the elevator licensing act, the Michigan elevator rules, the safety standards in effect at the time of the examination: ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators; ASME A18.1 Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts; ASME A90.1 Safety Standards for Belt Manlifts; ANSI A10.4 Safety Requirements for Personnel Hoists and the current NFPA 70: National Electrical Code.

The examination is OPEN BOOK. The following reference material is allowed in the examination site:

All reference materials must be bound. The materials printed from the BCC website must be bound by 3 staples on the left edge in separate documents.

Candidates are responsible for bringing their own references to the examination center. Any candidate caught writing, highlighting, underlining and/or indexing in the references during the examination will be reported to the BCC. Furthermore, candidates are not permitted to bring in any additional papers (loose or attached) with their approved references.
